Self - Promotional work

These are a couple of bits for my self promotional work. It is a double sided piece of paper that folds out to the large brainstorm I have drawn all about me.

It will be a A3 size image that folds up with a story on the back of Mr Sausage trying to get on the other side.

Anorak Magazine

These are my finals for Anorak Magazine. It is a children's magazine and I really enjoyed producing these for the project.
For the fear one I created a maze and matching the different fears to the names.
I also produced another spread which was titled journey to the centre of the Earth I changed mine slightly and made a story involving one of my characters Mr Mole. I produced a little comic strip of his journey and finished it with a large image of the overall journey.

Work doodles

These are some of my doodles I do at work while I'm on tills. Obviously I draw these in-between serving customers.
I drew this one when I was working on valentines night. I thought it just went with the mood of the evening.
This is an older one that I did a while ago. I like the fact that I have a restricted medium to chose from because it is mainly a ball point pen that I use.
Some of my managers don't mind the fact that I draw whilst on tills others can be on the side that if there is time to draw then there is time for work but really you can always make time for drawing.
A lot of my doodles mainly consist of aliens and robots. I don't really know why I draw them so much but they are just one of the first things that pop into my head to draw.

I just know that I will still draw whilst on tills for as long as I work at Staples :)

Eiffel Tower with added Mice and Wizard

This was a painting that one of my friends wanted me to paint for her. She wanted a night scene of the Eiffel Tower. So I started off by rolling on blue and white acrylic paint and added white dots for the stars. I then painted on the Eiffel Tower with more acrylic paint.
Then my friend wanted two mice on the tower and a wizard at the bottom I'm not too sure why but that's what she wanted.
I enjoyed painting this because I haven't properly painted in a while.

Tagaloa's Rock Finals

These are a few of my finals in colour for the Tagaloa's Rock story.

This first image was originally  a  dry point print which I then photocopied and coloured in with Pro Markers, crayons, pencil and a white paint pen.

I enjoyed colouring this in because its a bit like colouring in a stained glass window. It brings the print to life. I enjoy working in different medias especially those that I haven't done before.
For this image it started of a roller print so I had the back bones of the cliff and waves. I then rolled colour on top with acrylic paint. Once that dried I then added movement and energy with a white paint pen. For the cliff and sky I used water colours I wanted the sea to stand out because this was very important in the story.
This is a more abstract image that I produced. It is supposed to depict Tagaloa flying above the sea admiring his work. I wanted to make it look like a birds eye view so that's why there is shadowing underneath the clouds and Tagaloa.
I also added the white pattern to show the waves and movement of the sea.

How the world began - Tagaloa's Rock

Theses are some of my final roughs for Tagaloa's Rock another story from How the World began.

I used water soluble pencils again and Pro markers for the leaf image as well as dip and ink.

I also wanted to incorporate some type in my images because I love drawing typography so I tried to make the image below be a bit like a comic book with the type leaping out of the page.

I will definitely be working more in black and white in the future because it is good for getting different ranges in tone also I enjoy working in black and white.

How the world began - Pan Gu and the Egg

These are my final roughs for a story our class had to illustrate. It was called How the world began and this was one of the sub stories Pan Gu and the Egg.

For these images I used a mixture of pencil, pro markers and water soluble pencil.

I don't usually use a range of black and white but I quite enjoyed working in these media especially the water soluble pencil.
